Coming Closer...

As the art fair is coming closer, my mom and I have been making more and more granola and are storing it in air tight containers. Our house smells so strong of cinnamon and spices it is incredible! This became useful when I found myself in yoga class one day next to a smelly man. I reached to grab my towel ( I do hot room yoga), and as the towel came closer to my face I began to smell granola instead of the man next to me!

We are also in the process of getting ready for Thanksgiving weekend. Not because we are making a meal, but because we will be making a very large amount of granola! We only have two more weekends!!! AHH! There is a lot already made, and sitting in various sizes and shapes of containers in front of me, but not nearly as much as we need.

I should mention our flavors... We have 3. Original, which is what we make all the time to have in the house. This has strong cinnamon flavor in it, along with vanilla, almonds, pepitas, raisins, etc. The second is our seasonal flavor which will be a pumpkin spice granola. And lastly, one that I created, will be a smoky flavored granola!

We have also bought bags to sell it in, and tasting cups for people when they come to the fair. The next step is to figure out exactly how much will go in each bag. Other than that, we are just baking away here in our kitchen!

One last thought to mention is that Trader Joe's is now selling Grade B maple syrup! yay! We like to use this as a sweetener in the granola because it's a little thicker than Grade A and gives a nice flavor!

Happy Autumn!

Ingredient of the Day: Grade B maple syrup
