Hello,
For the first post I guess I just want to introduce you to the project my mom & I are up to.
We enjoy making homemade granola and are going to make a small and short business out of it. This all started when a friend of my mom's came over one day and had a snack. My mom had just made a fresh batch of granola and offered that up. Her friend thought it was great and said that she could make it for the art fair at my high school and call it "Artisans Granola". When the idea was introduced to me, I was very excited. My mom and I had discussed possibly selling the granola at some point but it never really became a reality (or even close to that).

We decided we would do this project for the experience of creating a business and not necessarily to make money, although that would be a nice bonus. :-)
Our first business meeting was towards the end of September. The number of different kinds of granola was discussed, what they would be, and our schedule for production. We also found some websites that we can order off bulk amounts of ingredients if we need to. The pricing and money handling was also discussed so that we know how many bags of granola to make in order to break even, and then what that would cost taking into consideration ingredients, and supplies, packaging etc.

The trickiest part of this project for us will to be fitting in all the baking. As a high school sophomore, I tend to get a lot of homework, and my mom is also busy working. Our schedule will need to be followed pretty strictly, we have until December 6th.
